As accountants, we like to keep things practical. But every now and then, the numbers do not tell the full story.

RideWest is one of those stories.

This year, Hall Chadwick QLD is proud to once again sponsor RideWest, the biennial charity bike ride from Brisbane to Longreach, taking place from 24 April to 1 May. The ride raises funds and awareness for mental health services in regional and remote Queensland, delivered through the Royal Flying Doctor Service Queensland Section Wellbeing Out West program.

While the ride itself spans more than a thousand kilometres, what sits behind it is countless hours of training, planning, fundraising and support. RideWest is very much a collective effort, supported by families, colleagues and the broader community, alongside months of training and preparation.

This year, several Hall Chadwick QLD team members will once again be part of the RideWest journey. Directors Rob Sendall and John Sloman, along with Toby Winten, will take their place in the peloton, riding alongside cyclists from across Queensland in support of mental health services for communities where access to care can be limited.

Supporting the riders on the road, Dugald Warby will once again be part of the RideWest support crew, playing a vital behind the scenes role to ensure riders are safe, supported and able to focus on the challenge ahead. Also joining the convoy this year is Kate Brennan, who will be supporting RideWest’s marketing and media efforts throughout the journey, helping capture and share the stories of the ride, the people involved and the regional communities it supports.

Supporting the cause
