Hall Chadwick QLD is proud to again sponsor the Sisters of the Saddle (SOTS) women’s charity bike ride.

SOTS formed in 2021 on the back of a 6 year journey that saw like-minded professional women come together to support our communities and young people. The strong friendships formed and deep passion to ‘make a difference’ is rooted in their love of riding, supporting each other, and caring for the communities we live in.

In 2022 this passionate group of 34 female business and community leaders challenged themselves on the inaugural ride of 350km over 3 days raising $300,000.

In 2023 the 3-day Ride Event raised an even greater $380,000 and the 2024 ride is shaping up to support even further, with $100,000 already raised against this year’s fundraising goal of 2024.

The SOTS has two not-for -profit partners and are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people in need.

The ride’s key partner, TRACTION empowers vulnerable young people to discover, connect, and realise their own positive and successful future. With this year’s funds, TRACTION will continue the Collaborative Communities Project which, in partnership with Gunya Meta, will co-design a community bicycle and mentoring program for young people.

TRACTION programs are grounded in evidence-based practice and will include regular evaluations in consultation with the local community and partner organisation/s that inform the achievement of positive, enduring outcomes.

The second not-for-profit partner Zephyr Education help children whose education has been disrupted by domestic violence get back to school as quickly as possible by supplying them with school uniforms and other school essentials.

2024 sees SOTS lean into their other purpose of getting more women on bikes with involvement in the Brisbane Cycling Festival early in the year; as well as the signature 3-day Ride Event from the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane 25-27th October. Lofty plans, astute goals, exciting challenges and more adventure awaits for this growing and dynamic community.

Eleven Hall Chadwick QLD women attended the Foundation launch, to show their support and hear from a panel of inspiring speakers, talking to the challenges and impact these charities are making.

Emma Ross, Hall Chadwick QLD HR Manager and 2024 Rider says, ‘The SOTS ride has gone from strength to strength. In 2024 we are committed to deepening our relationships and strengthening our impact with our two, ongoing charity partners. Through this partner alignment we aim to continue making a significant difference and increase our impact year on year.’

Hall Chadwick QLD wishes the SOTS women the best of luck with their upcoming training and ride preparation.
