Tropical Cyclone Jasper, disaster support for Far North Queensland

Queenslanders affected by Tropical Cyclone Jasper and associated rainfall and flooding during the period 13-28 December, 2023 may be eligible for low interest loans and grants to help them recover. 

The three types of support available are as follows:

  1. Extraordinary Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants, $75,000 for primary producers and $50,000 for small businesses and non profit organisations

These grants are available to assist directly impacted primary producers, small businesses and non profit organisations with the cost of clean-up and reinstatement.

This may include the hire or purchase equipment and materials to clean up, remove debris, replace fencing and other costs associated with the recovery process. View the full eligibility and supporting information here. 

  1. Disaster Assistance Loans, $250,000 for primary producers, small businesses and non-profit organisations

Disaster Assistance Loans are available to assist primary producers, small businesses and non-profit organisations with re-establishing normal operations. This is designed to support the cleanup and associated repairs as well as replacing damaged plant and equipment. View further information on these loans and eligibility here

  1. Disaster Assistance Loans, $100,000 for primary producers, small businesses and non-profit organisations

Concessional loans are provided to assist those affected with essential working capital for expenses. This may include paying salaries, rent or purchasing goods or produce. View more information here
